RALEIGH, N.C. - More than 4,000 collegiate, high school and professional athletes will participate on Friday and Saturday at the 2014 Raleigh Relays, one of the largest track and field meets in the nation held annually at NC State's Paul H. Derr Track.

The Wolfpack will welcome track & field athletes from 114 NCAA schools, as well as a contingent of prominent club and professional teams. All told, 4,158 athletes will compete in 58 events over the course of both days.

"This is the largest meet held in the Southeast and one of the biggest meets in the nation," NC State track and field head coach Rollie Geiger said. "There is a high level of competition. Spectators can see 12 hours of track and field on both Friday and Saturday. The Relays are always a great opportunity to promote our program and NC State University. A lot of work goes into this competition. It's a huge event for us and the surrounding area."
